For those of you following along at home, this is not the first time I've worked on this series of photos. But as 2014 is the 'get the portfolio polished and up-to-date' year, I wanted to give these photos one more pass.
It's taken me a few years to be happy with this series. My plan to fully document the life cycle of these little flowers, and while I got a LOT of images throughout the cycle, well, let's just say that some of them just didn't quite make the final cut. For a long time I thought that the lack of a complete series made this project a failure, and so the images sat, unedited on my hard-drive. But now, despite the fact that my original idea didn't quite work out, I have to say, there are some pretty great shots here.
Looking over these images again makes me keen to work on another documentary series sometime soon ... although finding some easily accessible greenery in downtown Toronto might be a bit more tricky than it was in Fredericton. As March rolls in with the promise that spring is on the way, I think it might be time for me to start scouting out some potential locations!
